About Puerto Pollensa
Puerto Pollensa (also known as Port de Pollença) is a beautiful town on the stunning, pine-clad northeast coast of Mallorca with a wealth of culture and activities to discover. Mallorca boasts a wonderful Mediterranean climate with over 300 sunny days a year. Nestled on the peninsular beneath the Serra de Tramuntana mountains and the coast, Puerto Pollensa is cooled by gentle sea breezes even when temperatures can be well into the high 30C’s in the summer months (June-August).
In Spring (early March to late May), and Autumn (late September to early November), temperatures can still be a very pleasant mid-upper 20C’s, ideal for more physical activities and exploring this wonderful island.
Puerto Pollensa is idyllic for family summer holidays with its 5km of sheltered bay, gently shelving azure seas, and wide golden beaches with palm-fringed parasols and loungers - providing fun, relaxation and safe bathing for young and old alike. For the more active it also features a range of water sports, including parasailing, water skiing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking and jet skis. Boat trips, scuba diving, boat and yacht hire and moorings are all available from the beautiful marina.
The main square in the town holds an outdoor market every Wednesday, visited by both locals and tourists alike. If you want to explore locally you have the lovely old Roman town of Pollenca, with its quaint character and famous 365 Calvari steps, only a ten-minute journey away. You are also ideally situated if you have a hire car to explore the amazing Serra de Tramuntana with its spectacular coastal scenery, old monasteries and the many birds of prey.
